Outcome based education (OBE) is a prerequisite for every professional programme that enables the stakeholder (student) to perform at globally competitive environment. India being a permanent member of Washington Accord, the professional institutions have started practicing towards OBE. The paper presents a novel approach for the assessment of PO's. This novel approach is useful in the assessment of a particular programme and the performance of the students during the programme. The paper also discusses the typical tools employed for the assessment and evaluation of Programme Outcomes (PO's) based on the weightage factor (mapping) between different tools and PO's.
