Advancement in technology and widespread use of computers in teaching and learning process has paved the way for better understanding of theoretical concepts in engineering subjects using virtual experimentation. Use of computational software in modeling, simulation and virtual experimentation has revolutionized the methodology of research in engineering. This paper presents the use of MATLAB software tools for modeling, simulation and virtual experimentation in broad category of electrical engineering and especially in the field of power electronics and drive applications.
